The OPP have released more details about break-in attempts east of Brockville.

According to police during the early hours of October 17th members of the Leeds County OPP responded to a report of a break and enter on River Acres Drive and a separate report of a possible attempt on Grandview Terrace in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township. The homeowners were in the building during the attempt at Grandview Terrace.

Members of the OPP Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team were brought in to assist in locating the suspect, who had fled the scene. Just before 10:00am police located and arrested the a man they believed was responsible. The OPP are now saying that, following further investigation, they discovered numerous houses in the area were either entered or an attempt to enter them was made. They also found a car that was stolen from Brockville at the nearby Super 8 Motel, where cars had been entered.

The accused appeared in court yesterday for a bail hearing.
