The Legion gets new banners for Remembrance Day

Prescott Legion will have new banners to display during Remembrance Day ceremonies this year.

Council has approved the purchase and installation of 22 new banners that will hang along the legion’s march route, down Henry Street to the cenotaph located on the fort field at Fort Wellington. Along with the banners the town will purchase six brackets to hold them in place, at a cost of just under $3,000 before taxes. This includes the cost of installing the banners.

While the banner’s design is still being finalized they will be made in two different sizes and the town has received the required permissions to recreate the poppy logo. The banners are being put together by Downtown Decorations and, while there is no firm completion date yet, they are tentatively expected on November 5th.
