Town approves funding for Zombie Walk

Town hall is helping spook up Prescott this Halloween.

At this week’s Special Council meeting a donation of $600 was approved for the Prescott Zombie Walk. The money will go towards marketing the event, according to a presentation by event coordination Joe Martelle. The funds are being drawn from the town’s community recreation and tourism grant, which still had $2,400 left in it before approval.

Event organisers also submitted a special event road closure application. During the event on October 28th Centre Street between King Street and Water Street will be closed to traffic, along with the east side of the municipal parking lot on King.

This will be the 2nd zombie walk held in Prescott and event organizers are hoping they can turn the town into the place to be for Halloween. Local businesses will be handing out treats to trick or treaters and there should be 20 classic cars present during the event as well.
