OPP investigating fatal marine collision

One person is dead following a marine collision in Rideau Ferry.

Lanark County OPP says at approximately 2:00pm on August 19th they responded to reports of a marine collision during the Rideau Ferry Regatta. A police investigation suggested a boat, which was in a scheduled race, became airborne and threw the driver. According to the OPP a 69-year-old man from Lakeville, Minnesota was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead shortly after.
