The 17th year of Kayaking for Cancer has begun.
The fundraising event for the Canadian Cancer Society started in Kingston on Saturday. Paddlers have been raising pledges in the past few months as they approached the paddle to Ottawa on the Rideau Canal.
In 16 years the group has managed to raise more than $600,000 for the society. Nearly $45,000 has been raised already in this year’s edition.
