Residents will continue to wait for the County Road 43 expansion in North Grenville to four lanes.
North Grenville CAO Brian Carré says a delegation from North Grenville and the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville met with Minister Bob Chiarelli at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference Monday. Carré says they told Chiarelli why the project is so important.
Chiarelli advised that the group lobby the federal government to secure their portion of the funding for the project before anything more could be considered for the province’s portion.
County CAO Andy Brown and Carré hope to meet with federal Minister of Infrastructure and Communities Amarjeet Sohi regarding the project.
Carré says that they won’t get the final word regarding funding until the latter part of 2018. That means the project wouldn’t begin until at least 2019 if approved.
