Fentanyl bust in Ottawa

Ottawa Police officers have managed to take more Fentanyl powder off the streets with an arrest.

The Ottawa Police Service says they found more than 15 grams of Fentanyl powder worth over $7,000 at an apartment on Caldwell Avenue in Ottawa on Tuesday.

A 60-year-old man is facing multiple charges of possession and trafficking. Fiver other people are wanted in connection with the ongoing investigation.

Ottawa Police Drug Unit Staff Sergeant Rick Carey says Fentanyl is clearly becoming more available in the city and they need to continue to focus efforts against the trafficking of it. Carey also says they’ve seen an increase in overdoses and people need to be aware of the dangers.
