Local Hockey Tournament Aims To Help Injured Player

Despite the warm weather rolling through, there is still hockey to be played.

The Prescott Blades Hockey League is starting up a new and hopefully annual fundraising hockey tournament.

The co-ed tournament will take place on March 17th and 18th at the Leo Boivin Centre. The eight slots for teams in the tournament have already been filled.

Councillor Leanne Burton says this tournament is a fundraiser for a person in Prescott who suffered a serious hockey injury while playing in the Blades Hockey League. Burton says there will also be a silent auction taking place.

The tournament will come about two months after the Town of Prescott started up its own fundraising hockey tournament in January, to help sign up kids to play in the South Grenville Minor Hockey Association.
