Revision: A former Brockville high school teacher, Dave Rancourt has been found guilty of sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a female student. The student’s name has been banned from publication to avoid identifying her and Rancourt, who worked at St Mary Catholic High School; has since been fired by the Catholic School Board of Eastern Ontario.
The victim came forward in 2014 when she was 22 years old. According to police investigation the incidences began in 2005 took place over the course of a few years, happening both at the school and during field trips.
Rancourt was released but will appear in Brockville court for sentencing on September 23.
